MSF’s First Annual Clean Up Your Computer Day

Saturday, May 15th, 2010 273 views

We here at MSF.com are proud to announce that we have officially sanctioned May 16th, as Clean Up Your Computer Day! What is Clean Up Your Computer Day you ask yourself? Simply put, it’s a day that puts you back in control of your computer by cleaning, organizing, and backing up everything on your PC or laptop. This article will be a play-by-play of what I do when my computer starts getting out of hand and will hopefully help make your computing experience a lot more enjoyable. You’re likely to  notice that I reference a few of the programs I wrote about in my MSF’s List of 10 Essential Windows Programs post-this is because those particular programs are still awesome. Lucky Number (Final Fantasy) 13

Monday, February 22nd, 2010 405 views

There is a new category here at MSF, “Geek Stuff.” In honor of this new category, I want to speak on the game that I have been waiting years for…Final Fantasy 13. I was first introduced to this amazing RPG series years and years ago when I played Final Fantasy 3, which to this day is one of the best RPG’s of all time. Since then I have been a Final Fantasy nerd who anticipates each installment like it is a personal present from Square.

For those of you who are not familiar with this truly amazing game, let me explain why Final Fantasy 13 is so important. (more…)

The Buzz About Google Buzz

Google Chrome LogoYouTube is an excellent website, it really is.

Yesterday I got to sit down and watch a live press conference held by Google, on YouTube which is why I mentioned it,  to announce the release of their new social networking tool aptly named Buzz. It should, however, come as no shock that the new Buzz isn’t really anything new at all, but an almost carbon copy of Facebook and to a lesser extent, Twitter.

The way Google explains it, Buzz will allow Gmail users (more…)

Here Comes Santy Claus…

NORAD Tracks SantaOn the morning of December 24th, 1955, Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) Director of Operations Colonel (AF) Harry Shoup feared the worst when he heard the red phone suddenly ring to life.

THE red phone.

The red phone that is only to be used in top secret contingency reporting was ringing and no one had any idea why. Col. Shoup instantly grabbed up the phone, praying that the call didn’t mean that the Russians were invading the US (which was a pretty big fear back then). (more…)

MSF’s List of 10 Essential Windows Programs

Monday, December 21st, 2009 199 views

Windows LogoWhat I meant to say was “10 Windows Programs That Are Free”. This here’s a list of 10 programs that find or will find their way onto every new Windows install I do (I usually reformat my hard drive about every 6 months). Hopefully this list will showcase some programs that are not likely to be on your computer, but probably should be because they are so bad ass and free. Keep in mind as you check this list that all the programs listed here are ones that I use myself and that there may and probably are better programs out there suited to do the specific job you are looking to do. Google Chrome OS

Google Chrome LogoYes! I have been saying this for years and they are finally going to do it. Google is coming out with it’s own operating system. It’s my understanding that visually it will look like Chrome, Google’s bad ass, light-weight web browser, and is going to be based on the Linux kernal. I love Chrome and I’m a fan of Linux, so guess what my computer will be running sometime next year? Google Chrome OS. Oh yes.

I’m not going to sit here and write a full blown post about it, because I’m not so good with the technical aspects of it (more…)

Old Glory: Offensive

Thursday, October 15th, 2009 429 views

Old GloryWhat is this country coming to when flying the American flag is offending someone?

I was purusing Fox News this morning when I found this. If you don’t want to read the article, I’ll give you the short version. Evidently at an Oregon apartment complex, the father of a veteran was told by management that he couldn’t fly the American flag on his motorcycle because it might be offensive to some people and to take it down immediately lest he face eviction. Really? Evicted for flying the flag of his country? I have to ask, who the (more…)

About MSF.com

Steve and Chris started thingsthatpissusoff.com several years ago and was unfortunately shut down after only one year. MSF.com is an ongoing attempt to sort of "re-live" those days, but, at the same time, bring better writing and solid articles to the table. Feel free to comment on anything posted here because that's essentially what the site is here for. If you'd like to post your own articles to MSF.com, all you have to do is ask. Also, the ads shown on this site don't necessarily reflect MSF views or beliefs. They are semi-random and based on key words I think.
