The healthcare issue is something that’s hotly debated between Steve and I and all across the country. Being balls deep in a Sociology degree, Steve loves to challenge my beliefs and opinions and this issue always seems to creep up when we are discussing government. I usually hold steadfast in my belief that healthcare, at least the insurance part, should be privatized, but two things besides Steve being a smart ass bag caught (or were brought to) my attention to make start thinking otherwise.

I usually keep it light hearted and like to poke fun at seemingly ignorant observations that I make about society; this post is far different. I do not write this post from anywhere positive. I’m going to take a bit of a break from my political articles and slow stuff down a bit and get back to the light-hearted side of myself. As you can probably guess from the name of this one…it’s all about running…and of course, why I hate it.
Now I’ve been running at least 3 times a week for the past 6 months or so and still cannot find it in me to like anything about it. I hear people all the time talk about how it’s something you get used to or I’m told to wait until I start getting that “runner’s high”. Runner’s high, eh? I don’t know shit about it, because if I had ever experienced it, you bet your sweet ass that I’d run everyday just to experience it again. I’m a huge fan of making myself feel good through entirely legal ways. (more…)

I, like the late great Martin Luther King, Jr., have a dream. I dream of a time when everyone one can have a health care provider they do not have to pay for. I have a dream people, that no matter how much money you make, you can afford to get seen by a doctor for your OS problem. Yes, I have a dream…Uhh, no. Unlike MLK Jr’s dream, mine looks good on paper but not so good in practice.
