Death of a Legend
I was stunned today to hear that Michael Jackson has passed away at the age of 50. I was slightly more stunned to hear of the way people reacted to his death. Everyone I know was celebrating like he was the reincarnation of Stalin or Hitler. I understand that Michael was involved in some hideous acts that should not be forgotten. However, he also had an impact on the music industry that needs not be forgotten either. More over than that, despite all the jokes, despite all the ridicule, he was a man.
He had a family and he leaves behind three children that will now live the rest of their lives without a father. For all the people saying “the world is better off without him,” ask his kids if that is the case. I’d be willing to bet they would not agree with you. Of course Michael was an easy target, and sure, he probably deserved most, if not all, of the ridicule he got DURING his life. But now his life is over, so while I understand it has been less than a day…Let him go in peace, he endured enough while he was here. I will not spend any more time writing about Michael Jackson, but seriously, remember he does have a family, he does have three children, and dammit, the man was talented beyond belief. To Michael Jackson, for as “different” as you may have been, I will always remember your immense talents and my heart goes out to your loved ones. Whatever there is after death, I hope that they needed a dancer and an icon, because they landed both with you.

I rocked out to some MJ tonight…Beat It, Thriller and the like…it seems so surreal to me…I can’t believe he’s actually gone.

wow…just checking out some vids on youtube…damn, I forgot how bad ass this dude would have been to see in concert. I don’t think that there is one fucking band or artist that can hold a candle to MJ’s energy and stage performance. Wish I could’ve seen him in concert…

there are plenty of artists and bands that could “beat” the “thrill” out of an MJ show. sorry, not a fan and i’m not going to sugarcoat it just ’cause he died
