Veterans and Crosses and the ACLU, Oh My!
As I was perusing the Washington Times this morning, I came across this little gem. As a veteran myself, it pisses me off to no end that a fucking racist, America hating organization is again sticking its nose where it doesn’t belong.
Let me set this up for you in case you don’t want to read the article. There is a 7-foot cross standing in a desert in California and the ACLU says that it is offensive to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in battle because it honors Christianity and not any other religion. Want to know the best part? The vets of California are fighting to keep it. See the problem here?
Just as further proof that this is not a religious gesture, check out the US Army Field Manual (FM) No. 7-21.13, entitled “The Soldiers Guide”, Appendix C “Ceremonies”, Section III “Memorial Ceremony” where it clearly states “C-4. Memorial ceremonies are patriotic tributes to deceased soldiers. These ceremonies are command-oriented so attendance is often mandatory. The ceremony is a military function that is not normally conducted in a chapel.” More details are given as to the Fallen Soldier Battle Cross further down in section 6-“C-6. Most units prepare a visible reminder of the deceased soldier similar to that depicted in Figure C-1. The helmet and identification tags signify the fallen soldier. The inverted rifle with bayonet signals a time for prayer, a break in the action to pay tribute to our comrade. The combat boots represent the final march of the last battle. The beret (in the case of soldiers from airborne units) reminds us that the soldier has taken part in his final jump.”
We have honored the fallen in battle this way since the Civil War. I ask you, have you ever heard a vet complain about those crosses? Fuck no you haven’t because we all know what the fuck it stands for. If you are a vet and you live in California, please help your fellow veterans to stop this insane bullshit, because if it isn’t stopped now, think about the sea of white crosses at Arlington National Cemetery. They’ll most certainly go after those, too.
I just don’t understand why the ACLU loves doing this type of shit. How the military honors their people is none of their fucking business. Why are people like this so down on tradition? And why the fuck does it even matter if it were a Christian gesture? I don’t see any vets up in arms about it, so why do they feel they need to be? Come talk to me when vets complain…on second thought, don’t bother…if we have the balls enough to go oversees and fight for your freedom…I’m sure we won’t have any problems fighting for our own.
Fuck the ACLU and everyone down with them…
-That is all…
