This is kind of old news…well really old news becuase it happened in 2006, but it seems that in September of that year somone made a My Space account to find out what a 13 year old girl was saying about their daughter. Yup, an ADULT made an account to gain a young teenager‘s trust. The mother’s name is Lori Drew and the girl’s was Megan Meier. That’s right, I said was…she commited sucide because of all of this shit.

Evidently this Lori bitch made it seem like she was a teenage boy (Josh was the name she gave him) of the same age and even talked to Megan for something like 6 weeks. Megan’s parents said that she had been very happy during this time. She was on medication for depression so seeing her happy probably felt pretty awesome to them. On October 15, ‘Josh’ messaged her saying that he had heard she was mean to her freinds and that he was terminating the relationship because of it. The next day Megan hung herself.

Personally I have a dim veiw of suicide. I don’t agree with it at all. I think it’s the easy way out to a problem that can be solved. I know that almost everyone has thoughts to kill themselves when they are faced with a seemingly impossible problem and I have even felt this way myself…quite recently I might add, knowing that I’m losing my job soon and will have to find a way to support my wife and three kids. I would never do it  because my family depends on me to provide for them. This is different though. This woman knowingly exploited an emotional problem and it led to Megan killing herself.

This is a big old bag of bullshit…I can’t imagine what would posses a grown woman to do this to a child. I mean I have as much fun as the next guy prank calling and generally fucking with people, but damn…this is taking it a bit far. I wonder how she justifies it to herself and what her daughter thinks of her now.

On top of all of this is what punishment Lori will receive…if convicted. She is being charged with unauthorized use of a computer and faces only 3 years in jail for this shit. I think that’s way too kind. This bitch should be charged with constructive manslaughter, a form of involuntary manslughter at a fucking minimum. On average people spend someything like 19 years in prison for manslaughter, which is way better than the slap-on-the-wrist 3 years she’ll likly recieve.

I guess the lesson to learn from all of this is don’t fight your kid’s battles for them (unless a life is in danger or some shit) and don’t go poking around the internetz pretending to be someone you are not because you never know what sort of impact you’ll have on someone…
