Enough Obama Drama
I was pretty sure that no political posts would come from me this go around, but in response to the recent Obama hating, I feel the need to speak my mind. I’m over hearing people say that Obama is a celebrity and not a president. When did a high approval rating make you a celebrity, and further more, when did that become a bad thing. “Oh no, people like the president. He’s a celebrity.” What? I digress.
Next order of business…people claiming that he needs to pay more attention to what he signs off. Let me take this moment to explain that I am non-partisan and not a democrat going to bat for my party. I have no party. I completely agree that Obama has rushed into some things that still remain to be seen whether it will work or not. However, the people that are up in arms about it are typically far right-wing conservatives who fully supported President Bush. If you supported Bush (and all of his decisions) close mindedly, then judging Obama on his decisions within the first 100 days of office is absurd on more levels than need be mentioned.
Finally, and the complaint that bothers me the most, is the people who actually complain about Obama using a teleprompter. I am a fairly level-headed person, but if you are one of the people who disrespects a president for using a teleprompter, I give up on you. Welcome to the 21st century folks, land of technology. Every president has notes, papers, documents, and fact sheets in front of them during speeches. There’s no arguing here, it’s the way it is. So then, how is it that because Obama does the same thing, but uses technology, this makes him less of a president. I have a theory on why this pisses republicans off so bad, and I’m pretty sure I’m right. It must make your blood boil to know that the black guy can actually read a teleprompter, while the good ol’ country boy struggled for eight years to string together a collection of semi-coherent sentences.
I’m an American, and if you are reading this, you probably are too. So why not stop complaining about everything Obama does and support the president of our country. I spent the last eight years supporting Bush through the roughest times I’ve seen, I’m sure you can find it in you to route for the other team for a few years. After all, they are in charge, so stop praying for failure so you can seem like a prophet who saw the fail coming. Pray for success so our country can get back on track. This is not about blue teams and red teams, it’s about red, white, and blue teams working together.
